Emmanuel graduates are always welcome at our various assemblies and events. Several Emmanuel grads had a good time catching up at our Christmas High School Brunch which follows our annual Christmas assembly.

David Bacon, Class of 2004

David graduated in 2011 from McGill University's medicine program (M.D.C.M.) and is beginning residency (medicine apprenticeship) with McGill University's Family Medicine program at Anna-Laberge Hospital, on the South shore of Montreal.

Hello! My name is David Bacon, and I'm an Emmanuel Christian School (EMCS) alumnus from the class of 2004. EMCS represents the "highlight years" of my life. While medicine provided me an excellent education and many sensational stories, I treasure ECS for being genuine, and providing the opportunity to share every day with fellow siblings in Christ.

EMCS provided mentorship in academic, physical, and spiritual spheres.

In academia, I received an excellent education. My Cegep poetry courses paled in comparison to the poetry analysis taught by Professor Robert Charpentier to EMCS' secondary 4 and 5 students.

In sciences, my EMCS education allowed me to excel in Cegep, receiving multiple scholarships. These results provided a framework for Cegep, allowing me to enter medical school bypassing completion of a preliminary university degree. I thank God for his provision.

In the arts, I had the pleasure of participating in two operettas, and learning to play the guitar. This allowed me to serve as a church musician for years afterwards.

Physically, Professor Jean Sauvageau invested hours of coaching, shaping a motivated, yet physically unfit teenager into a badminton gold medallist, which allowed me to qualify for provincial tournaments. He also taught me responsibility and mentorship by allowing me to lead after-school practices. Most remarkably, he provided spiritual mentorship, sharing his burden for unsaved students and those wavering in their faith, and encouraging me to direct them towards Jesus-Christ.

Most importantly, I had the privilege of being taught according to the Word of God. I received training in apologetics, which still provide me intellectual satisfaction with historical events recorded in the Bible, from Genesis 1 to the end of Revelations. This provided solid roots to help discern the truth from man-made theories in my subsequent studies in the sciences.

Emmanuel Christian School was a wonderful experience and preparation for my future. It provided me the basics in sciences and physicianship personality attributes, which now allow me to treat sick patients. Spiritually, Emmanuel Christian School taught me according to the Truth, which now allows me to reach out to lost souls.
