High School Course Offerings

This is a list of the courses that are offered in the High School. This list conforms to the requirements of the Régime Pédagogique of the Ministère de l’Éducation du Québec.

Certification system

In order to obtain a High School Leaving Certificate from the Ministerè de l’Éducation du Québec, students must meet the standards of the Certification system currently in place.

Certification system (J4) - Students in Secondary IV, V - (2007-2008)

The Minister will award the Secondary School Diploma to pupils who have accumulated 54 credits in Secondary IV and Secondary V, including the following compulsory credits:

- 6 in Secondary V language of instruction;
- 4 in Secondary V second language;
- 6 in Secondary IV Mathematics
- 6 in Secondary IV Physical Science
- 4 in Secondary IV History of Québec and Canada.

- 20 of the 54 must be for Secondary V courses

Certification system (J5) - Students in Secondary I, II, III - (2007-2008)

The Minister will award the Secondary School Diploma to pupils who have accumulated 54 credits in Secondary IV and Secondary V, including the following compulsory credits:

- 6 in Secondary V language of instruction;
- 4 in Secondary V second language;
- 4 in Secondary IV Mathematics
- 4 in Secondary IV Science & Technology or 6 in Secondary IV Scientific & Technological Applications
- 4 in Secondary IV History and Citizenship Education
- 2 in Secondary IV Art education
- 2 in Secondary V Ethics and Religious culture or Physical and Health Education

- 20 of the 54 must be for Secondary V courses
