School Life Volunteers
The School Life Volunteers meet once a month to discuss and organize various events that happen
throughout the school year. Our purpose is to support and enrich the life of the school by serving both the
Elementary and High School, as best we can.
Funds raised from the SLV events are used whenever there is a need in the school. For example, we
purchased videos and books needed for the library and board games for the classrooms.
We are involved in the library and with various events around the school. We participate in fund-raisers,
such as car-wash-a-ton, BBQs, the sale of African hand-made crafts amongst others.
In the Elementary sector, we organize a pizza day once a month and help with the orange sale fund-
raiser. We have provided Class Moms for the elementary teachers to assist where there is a need. A red-
cross babysitting course is also set up for the grade 6 students. Every February we appreciate our staff
and teachers with a week of surprises and end with a luncheon for all.
In the High School sector, we provide a HS Christmas brunch in December and help out with any Drama
presentation. We have held motivational assemblies for the HS students to let them know we are here for
them and to give them an opportunity to let us know their wants for the school.
We send out encouragement, thank you, and birthday cards to the staff to remind them how much they
are loved. We have secret prayer partners, where the staff is uplifted in prayer. We encourage prayer
behind every idea and activity. If you have any prayer requests, please let us know.
We are always in need of more volunteers from bakers to carpenters. We have a volunteer sheet that
goes out with the summer packages and we would love to see you at our meetings, held on the first
Thursday of the month at 11:30pm in the school. God Bless You.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart as working for the Lord, not for man. Colossians 3:23
